..Please come join us on Wed. June 30th at the Unionvale Church on Wallace Road at 7 PM for a community meeting about our concerns over Yamhill County approving another Gravel Permit to allow a third pit to operate on Grand Island. This not only affects Grand Island residents, but everyone that lives along Wallace Rd. into Dayton. This pit will be located on Upper Island Rd. across from the State Park and emcompass 174 acres. We would like the residents of Dayton to join us in this fight.

I don't know a whole lot about the gravel pits... Can you explain how they are a concern please?
