Hometown Heroes Campaign, May 2020

May 18, 2020 By admin

The Dayton Community Development Association (DCDA) has asked for nominations of frontline workers, who live in Dayton, that you feel are a hero in the eyes of their hometown!

We received 15 nominations, thank you! From those we drew 5 names to highlight this week.  Each hero recipient will receive a gift certificate to one of our local downtown businesses (also drawn at random).

It’s our way of saying THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!  And Thank you to our businesses for weathering the storm and being here for the community.

If you’d like to nominate someone this week, there’s still time!  Use this Google-Form link

To get your nominee information to us.  Deadline for entries is May 23,2020

Those nominated last week remain in our drawing pool!

Hometown Heroes round 1 – May 18,

Bret Putman – Dayton Fire Chief

Bret works the “Front Line” for this community and the surrounding area, every day while working to keep his team safe, as well.

Mandy Castro – CNA at Brighton Hospice

Mandy “cares for the elderly. She is very kind, sweet hearted and cares a lot about her patients.  She always comes home with a smile on her face knowing that she was able to care for a patient in need. She always has the brightest smile on her face no matter the situation”.

Lisa Haddock – Emergency Room Nurse

Lisa is definitely “front line”.  She cares for injured and very ill people, including Covid-19 patients.  She says it’s “her job”, but in these times it’s so much more.

Samantha Utt – CMA for Oregon Dept. of Health & Human Services

Samantha is a CMA working for Seniors and Disabled persons in their homes, giving them care and an outside friendly face!

Debra Nissen – Director, Dayton Food Bank

Debra and her team at the Dayton Food Bank are working very hard these days, helping those

In need in their community.  Debra loves what she does and organizes such a great service.
