Introducing: Downtown Dayton Dollars!

downtown-dollarsSHOPPING! Some love it, some not-so-much… The Dayton Community Development Association (DCDA) has just made your gift giving easier and offers a way to support your downtown. DAYTON DOLLARS are here! Sold in $5 increments, buy as many as you want. They are redeemable for purchases at any participating Downtown Dayton merchant. The dollars act like gift certificates. They can be used for goods and services in participating businesses located in the downtown and can be purchased online and at Dayton Mercantile.

Some ideas:
Think about gift certificates for our restaurants: Archie’s Ice Cream And Eatery, The Barlow Room, The Block House Cafe, Lonestar Bbq Restaurant and Catering. How about wine or wine tasting at Seufert Winery or fun gifts from Dayton Mercantile or Zukasa Mexican Tienda?

Dayton Dollars are valid and redeemable for goods and services at participating Downtown merchants for stated value. Merchant participation and product availability subject to change at any time. Dayton Dollars cannot be redeemed for cash or used to purchase other gift certificates. Dayton Dollars cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. Dayton Dollars cannot be used or redeemed towards previous purchases. No change will be given for items costing less than a full gift certificate. All sales subject to terms of participating merchant.
Dayton Dollars is administered by the Dayton Community Development Association.

Hearts of Dayton and Chocolate Crawl

Hearts of Dayton 2016 Campaign 

Visit our downtown businesses from January 15 to February 14th and show your love for our community!  Purchase a heart for $1 – $500 or more,  and your donation will support Dayton Friday Nights, the annual summer celebration downtown on Friday Nights. 

We will cap off this month long campaign with a very special downtown Chocolate Crawl on February 13th, 11am – 3:00 pm.

Dayton Community Development Association is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. Your donation is tax deductible as allowed by law.

We will cap off the month long Hearts of Dayton campaign with a very special Chocolate Crawl on Saturday, February 13th from 11am – 3:00 pm.  “Passports” can be purchased for $10 at participating businesses.  Use these on the 13th to experience chocolate bliss with your Valentine.  Your passport will get stamped at each business you visit, where you’ll get to indulge in different chocolate treats.  When your passport is full, you’ll leave your passport at the last spot you visit, where it will be entered into a grand prize drawing.  Again, proceeds may be tax deductible and will support Dayton Friday Nights.   Spend $25 for a heart during the Hearts of Dayton campaign and receive a free passport!

Join in on revitalizing downtown!

Classic cars on 4th StreetInterested in working on community events in Dayton, such as Dayton Friday Nights with classic car cruise-ins in the summertime, or on beautifying downtown with plantings and planters? You are invited to join us at our monthly meetings on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:30 at the City Hall Annex, 408 Ferry Street. Those are just some of the DCDA projects you could work on with your fellow community members. Join us at our meetings  if you’d like more info!

“Friday Nights” Kicks Off on May 23rd in Downtown Dayton, Oregon

Dayton Friday NightsFriday nights in Dayton, Oregon are set to get a lot more exciting this summer, as the Dayton Community Development Association (DCDA) announces the launch of “Friday Nights”. Every Friday between Memorial Day and Labor Day, Downtown Dayton will come alive with family-friendly activities in the town’s historic square and local businesses will feature dining specials, cruise-ins, and more.

Every Friday Night between Memorial Day and Labor Day between 5 pm and 9 pm, downtown Dayton will come alive as businesses and local vendors offer exciting summertime specials, live music and fun activities around the historic town square. Presented by the Dayton Community Development Association (DCDA) and the downtown business community, with support from the City of Dayton, the “Friday Nights” events will kick off on May 23rd with a classic car cruise-in, children’s activities and a family-friendly atmosphere.

Throughout the summer, local businesses will offer special activities to entertain locals and visitors alike. Classic cars and unique vehicles of all kinds will line Dayton’s Fourth Street on Friday nights from 5 pm to 9 pm as Archie’s Ice Cream and Eatery hosts a free “cruise-in”. Another local business, Dayton Electric & Lighting, will offer a free drop-in art activity and balloons for families with children from 5 pm to 8 pm in the historic town square, close to the playground.
Restaurants and businesses on Dayton’s Ferry Street will offer specials and extended opening hours until at least 8 pm. Participating businesses at press time include Seufert Winery, The Barlow Room Restaurant & Bar, The Block House Cafe and Lupita’s Mexican Food.
